On Fridays Home Health patients and referrals can contact the on-call nurse at 217-430-8368
Nurse on call 24 hours/day 7 days/week for Home Health patients only

You may benefit from home health if you...

  • have questionable medication compliance
  • require dressing changes
  • are recovering from a surgery
  • have new diagnosis or an unstable current diagnosis
  • are needing IV therapy or injections

Our Home Health Division offers the following services:

Skilled Nursing Care
A registered nurse providing medication teaching, wound care, injections, blood draws, IV therapy, diabetic care, tube feedings, catheter care, colostomy care, blood pressure monitoring, and other specialized assessments.

Home Health Aide
Home Health Aides assist qualifying patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, caring for nails, and oral hygiene. Assist with meal preparation, ambulation, and transfers. Home Health Aides do limited household tasks and assist with prescribed exercises.

Physical Therapy Physical Therapy
Using prescribed exercises to regain movement and strength in a body area. Teach the use of specialized home medical equipment. Assist patients in the resumption of daily activities such as getting in and out of bed, a wheelchair, or a bathtub.

Occupational Therapy
Exercises to restore activities of daily living such as learning new ways to cook, eat, bathe, dress, comb hair, and other grooming activities.

Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-Language Therapy
Provide rehabilitation for speech, language, hearing, or swallowing disorders. Assist with improving communication skills.

Home Support Aide Service
Certified Nurse Aide duties include meal planning and preparation, personal care, and light housekeeping. Certified Nurse Aides work under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Home Support
We provide a skilled service to patients on a fee-for-service basis. Medicare and most insurance companies will not pay for certain skilled services that require a nurse. This service is for anyone who needs assistance to safely stay in their home and who does not qualify for Home Health Services covered by Medicare or Insurance.

Medical Equipment Loan Program:
The Health Department temporarily loans walkers, wheelchairs, canes, commodes, bath chairs and much more to county residents.
