Effective December 16, 2012, The Hancock County Health Department will no longer be printing birth and death certificates. All requests need to go through the Hancock County Clerk's office located in the Courthouse in Carthage, Illinois. Their contact phone number is 217-357-3911.

If a certificate is needed that is prior to 1987 (Death) or 1985 (Birth), then you need to call the County Clerk's Office at 217-357-3911.
